Danny Porter was the typical 20 year old college student. He made decent grades in school throughout life and yet he couldn't pull together enough muster to leave his hometown. Instead going to a community college and having a good majority of his friends and his recent ex-girlfriend go to other campuses far away. The only true friend that Danny could say he really had was his female husky, Roxy. Roxy was very well trained and she was always around to give Danny company.
On occasion, Roxy would jump onto his bed and snuggle with him through the night. His teenage sister gave him so much crap about Roxy being the closest he will ever get to sleeping with someone. And yet, even though the teasing was troublesome, he always allowed Roxy to sleep where she wanted and to always be in her most comfortable position.
It was during a night alone with his parents and sister on a trip and out of the house, that he found out Roxy's true intention on spending so much time with Danny. He was stressed due to him having to get up and rush off to multiple lectures throughout the day, an exam in the afternoon, and he had to constantly make sure Roxy had enough food for her day. Danny was rushing down his stairs to grab a psych book when he tripped and rolled down the remaining eight steps. To top it all off he tumbled towards the bottom only to have himself knocked out cold by bumping his head into the wall.
Multiple hours passed with Roxy whimpering and lightly barking at her owner to get up. Groggily, Danny winced and looked up at the window. His head was throbbing and he was positive that the clock was not going to reveal any further good news. He knew he was out cold for more than enough time to miss the exam and two of the three lectures. The clock showed that it was 6:30 at night.
Roxy's ears perked when she heard her masters voice down the hall.
Charging down the hallway towards Danny, Roxy tackled him onto the floor and drowned him in a loving embrace of doggy kisses. Danny smiled and gently pushed her away from his face. "Man, I bet you never have to deal with time and clumsy feet like mine. I wish that someone could make my life as stress free as yours girl". Roxy barked and licked Danny's arm some more before he got up and went to go take a hot shower. Carefully going up the same stairs that started this whole day of pressure. Opening the bathroom door, Danny felt an itching on his chest but he was not bothered by it. Today was way to over the top to fret over a silly itch. Taking off his shirt he looked and noticed that his stomach was a little bit more toned and that he had more chest hair than he remembered yesterday. Even this did not bother Danny, he merely thought it was natural and continued to strip, removing his socks. However, when he reached down to take off his second sock, he noticed gray fur on the back of his hand. Rubbing the back of his hand gently expecting the hair to brush off quietly and float away, he began to panic as the hair popped up more over his entire body. He looked in the mirror as he saw his chest was littered with different bits of gray and white fur. Not only was it covering his entire body but the length got worse by the second. He soon felt his face being stretched in multiple in directions as well. His ears became perked up and seemed to slowly move upwards towards the top of his skull. His nose, while his ears stretched, pulled forward into a muzzle and was quickly consumed by the spreading fur. The seat of his pants was instantly filled with pressure as a canine tail tried to escape. It was this moment that his fingers decided to shrink and become more paw like than human. He was no longer able to pull down his pants and relieve the pressure. The explosion of cloth and fur was a loud ripping noise that caught Roxy's attention. She sprinted up the stairs and busted in through the loosely closed door. Danny was nearly on all fours due to the ever growing pressure on his spine and his lower half was the last to follow the change. With a finality to the situation, his shoes exploded and the leather on the sides of his feet ripped and pulled apart. Roxy stared onward as her owner was looking more and more like a future bachelor. Danny whimpered out in panic, and as his eyes widened with fear due to the lack of speech, Roxy walked over and rubbed her nose against him. A sign that everything was going to turn out for the better. Danny walked in front of the full-length mirror and looked at his new physique, Roxy then walked into the picture and Danny knew at that point that this change in appearance was not a curse of any kind, but a true gift and a chance at happiness.
The next day
Danny's parents walked into the house and called out their arrival. To their surprise two dogs ran towards the family instead of just the typical Roxy. The family looked at the new husky and saw the same blue and green eye color that their son had. His mother shrieked in shock and the father looked on at the pair. He could sense a true happiness radiating from the two. Just waking up from the car ride home, his sister walked in through the door and saw her brothers new appearance. "Well at least having a dog sleep with you doesn't look as weird as it did before". She smiled and walked forward, petting Roxy and congratulating her on her new boy toy. Roxy and Danny looked at each other and smiled, they knew that the rest of life was going to be full of joyful events, loving experiences, and stress free days to just sleep.

Be Careful what you wish for....
My name is Sam. I’m an average teenage boy, and live with my dad and my dog Lucky. At least I did until yesterday. That was the day my life changed forever. I came home from school to find my dad slumped down in the love seat crying. He looked up when I entered the room, and I could tell something was very wrong. I steeled myself for a moment and asked what was wrong. That’s when he told me. He had come home to find Lucky unresponsive on the floor. He rushed him to the vet, but try as they might, they couldn’t save him. Turns out it was cancer. The news hit me like a ton of bricks, and I collapsed to the floor right next to my father. Lucky had been around my whole life. Ever since I was born he had been there watching out for me. In a strange way, I considered him my brother. I didn’t have any other family but my dad. Lucky and I had been inseparable. We did everything together. Now it felt as though a giant whole had been ripped open in my heart. I don’t remember much else

“Laziness is not an option in our family Kaitlin!” snapped a tall, stern man as he looked at a slender, dark-haired girl.
“Leave off dad! I’ve only been out of school for a week and you're already having a go at me!” Kaitlin said,
“Well, If you hadn’t walked out on your exams then we wouldn’t be having this conversation” her dad continued, “Why couldn’t you be more like Hannah, she passed with top marks and works for a large computer brand”
“What me? Be like Hannah? A good obedient little dog” Kaitlin retorted, “Yeah right, just because she didn’t

When consciousness returned to him, he was instantly overwhelmed by fatigue. Though he possessed the ability to move, he chose not to. Possibly because he was afraid of what might be beyond his sight. He tucked his knees into his chest, hugging them there for comfort. There were sirens in the distance, this he could hear. But as it droned on, getting neither louder nor fainter, he began to doubt its existence. It was just the ringing in his ears, from the numerous concussions.
He finally forced himself to sit up. It hurt, but the wet ground had been irritating his ear. His gaze slid groggily across the dark room, and he started to wonder wh
