Canine Relations
(Boy to Husky)

On the crisp, cool afternoon in August, Freddy Pinkerton was walking home from a buddies house. The afternoon seemed to be quiet and still, almost like time froze around him. The golden leaves falling but yet showing very little signs of life. A little spooked Freddy made his way home and entered his room. “Gosh, today was so tiring!”. The box fan in his room blew cool air noisily towards him, thus causing him to grow weary and eventually caused him to fall asleep. Waking up to the sound of his mom walking through his door, he got up. “Hey sleepyhead, how was your slumber?”. Breathing in and stretching he replied, “Relaxing and enjoyable as always”. With a smile on her face, his mother walked out of the room. He then got up to turn on the TV and computer. He was soon called to dinner,. At the table he could see his mother sniffling. While checking through his usual item browsing site, after dinner. He decided to see the number of dogs for sale, in his neighborhood, when he came across an ad of someone giving up a husky puppy. The dog was very puffy, covered in black and white fur. It’s ears were perked up and on top if its cute little head, but the one feature that drew him in were the eyes. They were a brilliant, sharp blue that seemed to stare right through you. The dog looked beautiful and he found out the owner only lived five blocks away. “I need to ask mom if we can check this out!”. So with all his excitement and hope flooding his heart, he ran downstairs. “Mom would you be interested in seeing a puppy right now?”. His mom looked at him with blood shot eyes and a nose that seemed to be blotted with red dots. “Not anytime soon son, I believe I caught something at work.” she mumbled to him. As he was walking away, each step seemed to make his heart heavier and sadden him more. “perfect timing” he mumbled to himself. “Finally find something to make me happy, and my mom gets sick”. Before he went to bed that night he sat there thinking of what the dog could learn to do and what he the two would do together. Without even knowing it, this dog was growing on him. He sat up for another two hours before deciding that he needed to see the little fellow. He just couldn’t live knowing it was so close and how much he wanted to see it. Luckily he had a one story house, making it easy to sneak out and sneak in. He left his window cracked and pulled the screen down. The air was a bit chilly but nothing to cold to risk. His mind kept flashing the sweet little image of the puppy in his mind. For some reason he felt like he needed to see the dog. He wanted to be with it and protect it from harm, almost like a mother would do for her child.
As he approached the house he could see the outline of a little dog by the edge of the fence. As soon he took a step on the yard the dog perched its head and looked his direction. As he got closer to the fence he could sense a tingling on his elbow but only mindlessly scratching it reached in between the chain linked fence to pet the dog. Its fur seemed so soft and even in the night, his blue eyes could be seen glittering under the moon. The dog licked his hand and he started to laugh as it tickled him. He soon found the fence to be a barrier and climbed over it to see the dog without any interference. The dog seemed to be happy and started to jump on his chest. Freddy started to feel the itch on his elbow spread to his chest. When he finally looked at his elbow he saw that it was covered in what appeared to be white fur. He also saw that where the dog licked him, smooth, white fur spread. Even with the changes spreading, he was playing and praising the dog. His chest where the itch spread seemed to intensify and he found himself removing this irritation of clothing. He looked down and found that his chest was growing a white fuzz that seemed to get thicker by the second. He couldn’t see it but a darker shade of white, nearly grey, fur was growing on his back and spreading downward. The dog then turned its attention from Freddy to Freddy’s shoes. The dog started to gnaw at the foot of both of them. Before long Freddy felt his feet distort and stretch. He noticed that black like nails were ripping the front of his sneakers apart. Soon his foot burst through and he saw that it already was covered in white fur. His ankle slowly moving upwards and making his foot arch. He felt the nails on his feet finally grow into place. Curious he looked to his hand to see what was happening there. His nails were already lost and fur was spreading from his knuckles to his wrist. He felt pads stiffen the palm of his hands The fur from his elbow had already spread over most of his arm, only the bottom side of his lower arm was still human. With the dog done with his shoes, it started to jump on his legs. Freddy knew it was the dog doing this to him but he felt the kind, gentle nature of the creature and never wanted to be away from it. The fur on his ankles started to rush up and grow towards his knee. He felt his spinal cord stretching out by the second. The puppy seemed to just be sitting back in curiosity and what appeared to be anticipation. Freddy tried to walk to it but was stopped short when he felt something in his lower back snap, forcing him to fall to all fours. Now nearly a dog all that was left was his shoulders and up. Though that was slowly fading away as white fur grew up his neck, and the darker fur on the back of his shoulders. He noticed the puppy sniffing and nipping at his ears. As he expected, they grew to a point and started to move slowly up his head. He felt the puppy lick his nose and as soon as he stopped, Freddy felt his face crack and push forward. His newly formed muzzle made room for his tongue to lengthen and his teeth to sharpen. The last of his skin was covered in grayish fur, as his hair turned into the texture and color of the hair on his back.
With Freddy now completely an Alaskan husky, he had no thought of his previous family and friends. He only had one thought and that was to protect the little, magical, scamp that was in front of him. Freddy never knew what actually happened that night. Maybe it was destiny, or maybe it was just pure magic that the two united. Either way he was happy, and felt like there was meaning in his life.
This story was alittle rushed but I felt it to be content. I hope you guys like it and maybe in the future I can go back and explain it all. The basis of the plot is he see's the add and the magic kicks in then. As the night carries on the magic seeps in and so on and so forth....enjoy though!
